Who Can Fly a Drone?
Anyone over the age of 16 who registers their drone with Transport Canada can fly a drone. Pilots must stay away from aerodromes, people. busy areas and no drone zones.
Who Should You Hire?
Always hire a certified RPAS Drone Pilot with insurance when working in a commercial setting.
Flying a Registered Drone
Always fly below 122m or 400 Feet where you can see the drone at all times.
Within an aerodrome - never fly near airports or heliports.
Stay at least 1.9km from heliports and 5.6km from all airports and controlled airspace
No Drone Zone - You are required to stay away from emergency sites, events, people, prisons, border corssing, busy areas and national parks.
Fly in built up areas fly 30m horizontally from bystanders.
Enables you to get permission from Nav Canada to fly in a controlled airspace and near people.
